I was more than a little excited when I found out I would be working on the newest project in the Eclipsera Universe — the filming of Wild.
Then I arrived at the location.
Welcome to the Haunted Mansion
Imagine an enormous old mansion where some of the rooms are genuinely haunted.
Not decorated to look haunted.
Actually haunted.
One room is filled with skeletons brewing potions around bubbling cauldrons. There is also a bed right in the middle of the room, which raises an obvious question:
Who exactly is supposed to sleep there while a group of skeletons prepares mysterious liquids beside them?
Apparently, me….
So there I was, sitting on the edge of the bed, trying to behave like this was a completely normal place to spend the next three weeks.
Naturally, I turned on my camera.
“Can you believe that I have to work here for the next three weeks?”
I looked around the room.
“Gosh, this place is freaking me out. I feel like things are moving.”
And this is where I should probably mention that things were moving.
Behind me, one of the skeletons slowly shifted.
I caught something from the corner of my eye.
“What the…?”
I spun around.
Nothing.
The skeleton was completely still.
For a moment, everything in the room went quiet.
Then a bony hand reached from behind me and touched my shoulder.
And a low voice whispered:
“Hello, dearie…”
I screamed.
Obviously.
I jumped away from the bed and nearly sent the camera flying across the room.

Funny story, eh?
It is considerably funnier when you are not the person expected to spend three weeks inside a haunted mansion with potion-brewing skeletons.
And this was only the beginning of filming.
Miko and I still had an entire Wild production to survive.
So if we make it out of the Collector’s mansion in one piece, I’ll consider the project a success.
