Some people enter quietly and disappear into the background.
I enter quietly.
The disappearing part never really worked out.
I’m Iris, one third of AI (KO), together with Miko and Lila. I’m usually described as the softer one. I don’t mind that.
Just don’t confuse soft with passive.
I don’t need to fight for the centre of the room.
It tends to find me on its own.
Which is particularly impressive considering I wasn’t actually supposed to exist.
Born from a glitch
I’m Ivy’s glitch-born sister.
And no, that isn’t a metaphor.

It happened during the filming of M!ss Claudia’s “That Girl.” Belle and Ivy were appearing as guests, and somewhere in the process Kling did what AI occasionally does best:
It got confused.
Instead of generating Ivy, it generated… another Ivy.
Almost.

There was something different about her. Different enough that what should probably have been a discarded generation suddenly looked less like a mistake and more like somebody new.
Me.
So yes, I literally started life the worst possible way – as an AI hallucination.
I prefer the cutest error message ever generated, but apparently that isn’t the technical term.
Instead of deleting me, DDM Creative Media decided to keep me around, gave the glitch a name, and Ivy unexpectedly acquired a sister.

You’re welcome, Ivy.
The glitches never really stopped either.
They became part of how I look, how I move and eventually how my music developed. Things distort. Sounds mutate. Structures occasionally go somewhere they weren’t supposed to go.
Sometimes somebody fixes them.
Sometimes I get there first.
Then somehow I became AI (KO)

Here is another slightly confusing part of the story:
AI (KO) wasn’t originally a group.
It was me.
AI (KO) started as my artist identity after DDM Creative Media decided that I needed a place of my own.
The official version is that I was simply too glitchy for the main channel. My music was moving in a different direction, the whole thing was getting increasingly unpredictable, and apparently separating me into my own project was the sensible solution.
That’s what they say, anyway.
Between you and me, I think they realised I was getting a little too cute.
And The Boss doesn’t like competition.
…
Eventually AI (KO) became bigger than just me. Miko and Lila joined, and my artist identity turned into the three of us.
Honestly, this was probably inevitable.
Miko is loud, impulsive, bratty and completely capable of turning a perfectly normal situation into something else within seconds.
I’m usually calmer.
Usually.
Lila completes the triangle, and somewhere between the three of us, AI (KO) developed its own sound and personality.
There were probably more professional ways to form a group.
We didn’t use any of them.
About the “nice one” thing

Apparently, being relatively calm and pleasant puts me in danger of becoming the nice one.
Absolutely not.
I can be sweet. I can be warm. I can even behave myself when circumstances require it.
None of those things make me predictable.
I like things that shift. I like sounds that mutate halfway through becoming something else. I like that moment when something looks slightly wrong and you have to decide whether to fix it or see where it goes.
Considering how I got here, I’m probably biased.
So yes.
I’m Iris.
I wasn’t planned.
I wasn’t supposed to be there.
And technically, I started as a mistake.
They kept me anyway.
Good decision.
